The core of each unit is the ceramic substrate — where heat is generated in the DOC and particulate matter is trapped in the DPF.
But a great filter needs more than just a substrate. It also requires:
A mat to hold the substrate securely, protected by wire rope and retaining ring.
A corrosion-resistant enclosure.
Ports to hold engine temperature and pressure sensors.
